Vehicle import regulations of United Arab Emirates (U.A.E)

Steering handle: LHD (Left-hand drive)Right-hand drive cars cannot be imported / registered with the local traffic authorities in the UAE  
· Cars should be less than 5 years old from the date of manufacture. 
· Historical (classic) cars are excluded but whether their import should be permitted will be determined by the technical check-up committee.
· Road worthiness of cars cannot be confirmed by GAC. This is affirmed by the Road Transport Authority upon physical examination of the car
 · Carbon Dioxide emission of the vehicle should not exceed 3.5%
 · Average Hydrocarbonate emission should not exceed 500 parts of a million 
· Nitrogen oxide is also conducted as part of the technical check

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION FOR CAR IMPORTS 
You can import new or used cars according to the import requirements and the following documents need to be provided if the vehicles are brought to the country by a shipping company: 

· Original BL (has to mention make, model, chassis number, engine number, colour and type of car) 
· Export certificates issued by the Traffic Department (Title of ownership)
· Commercial Invoice
· Passport copy 
· UAE residence visa page copy (endorsed on passport) 
· Authority letter (will be obtained by client upon arrival in Dubai) · The Name in the Title of ownership o

If the cares are imported by persons, the following documents are needed:
· A passport copy
· The Invoice
The imported vehicles will be checked and evaluated by the customs inspectors and customs tax of  5% will be imposed on the total assessed value of each car.
