KIA'S K900 FLAGSHIP RECEIVES MILEAGE RATINGS

KIA'S K900 FLAGSHIP RECEIVES MILEAGE RATINGS

Kia's K900 full-size luxury sedan, which hits the market this spring as a more modestly priced alternative to prestigious rides like the Lexus LS 460 and BMW 7-Series, has just received official fuel economy ratings from the EPA.
Though it shares a rear-wheel-drive platform and numerous other components with the similarly upscale Hyundai Equus, the K900 sets itself apart from its V8-only sibling with an available 3.8-liter V6. The mill, which produces 311 horsepower and 293 lb-ft of torque, is rated at 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

Power-hungry types can also opt for a 5.0-liter V8. It churns out 420 horsepower along with 376 lb-ft of torque, and is good for 15/23 mpg.
Both mills are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission; unlike most of its competitors, the K900 can't be optioned with foul weather-taming all-wheel-drive.
Befitting its status as Kia's flagship model, as well as the upwardly-mobile Korean brand's first RWD luxury car, the K900 is fitted with a plethora of standard features, with highlights including a navigation system with an oversized 9.2-inch display, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a 17-speaker Lexicon 7.1 sound system.
An optional VIP Package will add, among numerous other extras, heated, ventilated and reclining rear outboard seats with power lumbar support and lateral headrest adjustability.
Pricing for the K900 has not been announced, but the entry-level V6 model is expected to start at around $50,000, while a fully-loaded V8 will command roughly $65,000.
